As you probably know, the Phillies play the Dodgers tonight, and if they win they move on to the World Series. It's an important game, and Philadelphia is very aware of this (I don't think I have seen anyone in this city NOT wearing a Phillies hat for the last week).
And so I was not overly surprised to get an email this morning from R5 Productions, Philadelphia's (awesome) local music bookers, letting everyone know that the Phillies game would be shown at both the Spinto Band and Dirty Projectors shows tonight.
Is this a Philly thing or is it pretty standard when a city's team is in the playoffs? It's difficult for me to imagine the Black Cat or DC9 putting up a big screen to show the Nationals, even if they were one game away from the World Series. Are rock shows in LA and NYC airing the game?
